Lake of the Isles Canoeing Part of the Chain of Lakes Regional Park, Lake of the Isles is located in the heart of the Kenwood neighborhood. The 93-acre lake is popular with walkers and bikers and those who enjoy a leisurely canoe outing. The lake is linked to Lake Calhoun by a canal that passes under Lake Street. You can also canoe for nearly two miles from Lake Calhoun to Brownie Lake. Canoe racks are located at the north end of the lake (across from Peavey Fountain at the base of Kenwood Parkway) and the south end of the lake (across from the Off-Leash Recreation Area)). They are available for season rental by permit only. An on-line Application and Canoe Storage Agreement is required and must be submitted to the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board by the end of March/early April.
